The First Asia Cup took place in 1984 in the UAE, with India emerging as the champions and Sri Lanka securing the runner-up position. 

   Asia Cup 1986

Sri Lanka’s victory over Pakistan brought them their first Asia Cup title in 1986.

Asia Cup 1990 & 1995

In 1990, India notched their second title, edging past Sri Lanka in a gripping final. 

In 1995 India clinching their third title against Sri Lanka.

In 1997, Sri Lanka reclaimed the trophy, triumphing over India in a closely contested final. 

   Asia Cup 2000

In 2000, Pakistan announced their arrival by clinching their maiden Asia Cup title against Sri Lanka. 

   Asia Cup 2004

Sri Lanka marked their dominance, securing their fourth title against India in 2004

   Asia Cup 2008

In 2008, Amid security concerns in Pakistan, the tournament transitioned to the T20 format and Sri Lanka clinched their fifth title. 

   Asia Cup 2010

The event returned to the ODI format, with India bagging their fifth title against Sri Lanka in 2010

   Asia Cup 2012

In 2012 Pakistan affirmed their T20 prowess, clinching their second title in this format 

   Asia Cup 2014

In 2014, Sri Lanka added a sixth title to their collection, this time in the T20 format against Pakistan. 

Asia Cup 2016 & 2018

In 2016, India emerged victorious for the sixth time in the T20 format, defeating Bangladesh 

In 2018, Reverting to the ODI format, India secured their seventh title against Bangladesh.

   Asia Cup 2022

Sri Lanka became the winner of the Aisa Cup 2022 by defeating Pakistan by 23 runs. 

The 2023 Asia Cup is the 16th edition of the Asia Cup, with the matches to be played as One Day Internationals (ODIs), and it will be jointly hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka from 30 August to 5 September .
